Sophia Salem 8 of Telford, Pa., (in red shorts) is on her instructor's, Jane Lopoten's left, at the Jane Lopten School of Dance in Landsdale, Pa. on Friday March 3, 2006. All the Salem children are involved in physical activities of some sort or the other. It improves the childrens bones due to a lack proper nutrition in utero and diet growing up. While still in the orphanage at 10 months, Sophia would wrestle a bottle of milk away from other babies and give it to her twin brother Joseph, that act in fact, kept Joseph alive. The Salem children, 3 sets of twins, are from Russia. Sophia and twin Joseph were adopted at 11 months of age by Hythem and his wife Lisa. The other twins, Selene and Julianne 13 along with Sam and Jake, were adopted just 20 months ago. All children are thriving in school, socially and physically. photo by jane therese
